The Bible is like Algebra. You may not sum or group variables that are different. Like God and Angels. That is true in Arithmetic also. In the Bible, you may not compare apple with oranges. For example, in the sentence ‘first born of the creation’, we have two variables ‘born for apple’ and ‘creation for orange’. ‘Born’ is not the same as ‘creation’ just like ‘apple’ is not the same as ‘orange’. Many make Jesus a created being whom, as such, cannot be God because they erroneously claim that the verse teaches that Jesus was created. No matter how absurd that interpretation might be to you, many deny Jesus as God based on Colossians 1:15. He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; Colossians 1:15 NWT Another example of adding apples with oranges, which many use to deny Jesus concerns the name and title of Jesus before He was born. Anything born must have at least a name not only titles. You cannot have a prince, a king, a president, a doctor born without a name. In the case of Jesus, Mary was to name the baby Jesus besides all the other titles He was to assume while walking on earth. Nevertheless, back in Heaven, before Jesus was born, He must have had a name. Jesus did have a name. Interestingly, it was not Gabriel who announced the birth of Jesus so he could have announced to the shepherds that Jesus was born. It was another group of Angels or Messengers which was headed by Angel of YHWH announced the birth of MESSIAH YHWH in Luke 2:11 and not the birth of Jesus. In the Hebrew language, we would have read that name for the One of Whom the Angels came to announce in Luke 2:11. But in our translations of the New Testament, the name who was born is hidden under ‘Christ’ and ‘[the] Lord or LORD’. because there was born to YOU today a Savior, who is Christ [the] Lord, in David's city. (In parenthesis, the bracketed ‘[the]’ signifies that the word does not appear in the text of the Greek manuscripts which are used for our translations but was inserted by the translators for whatever the reason might be.
